3. Delon Wright, Atlanta Hawks

Is there a chance that Wright could return to Toronto? Don’t rule it out. The Hawks might not be giving Wright as much offensive responsibility as he had in the past, but Toronto could make him the unquestioned backup point guard while guaranteeing a nice diet of shots.

Wright averaged a career-high 10.2 points per game with the Pistons and Kings last year. Though the presence of so many scorers in Atlanta has blunted his effectiveness, his 46% field goal percentage and 39% rate from 3-point range are both slightly above his career averages.

Will Delon Wright return to the Toronto Raptors?

Malachi Flynn will get a chance to prove himself, but the odds of either himself or Armoni brooks emerging as a high-end counterpart to Fred VanVleet. Wright has the height and length Ujiri craves from his guards, meaning that a reunion would make a ton of sense from a fit perspective.

Wright’s first tenure in Toronto might not have been the most eye-popping stint from a statistical point of view but he was nevertheless effective for some playoff-bound teams. Returning to the Raptors would help slightly ease the ridiculous two-way burden VanVleet has to carry every night.
