Grading every Toronto Raptors player after fantastic 2021-22 season
By Mike Luciano
Toronto Raptors 2021-22 Grades: Forwards
Pascal Siakam
Think about all of the accomplishments that Siakam has tallied in his career. Then think about the fact that his 22.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game contributed to a season that was more statistically proficient than any other in his career. If Siakam doesn’t make All-NBA, that would be a huge mistake.
Grade: A
Precious Achiuwa
Achiuwa would have been much lower on the list earlier in the year, but his second-half swing did wonders for his reputation within the league. Now a quality defender and robust 3-point shooter, Achiuwa looks like the player Ujiri thought he was acquiring in the Kyle Lowry swap.
Grade: B+
Toronto Raptors: Thad Young was extremely consistent.
Thad Young
Young wasn’t the most high-volume scorer in the world, but that veteran playmaking instinct that he brought to the table on both ends was invaluable. Young should be retained next season as an experienced leader.
Grade: B+
Chris Boucher
Boucher has been through his ups and downs this season, but he finished the year on a very high note. Boucher might not be brought back due to a roster crunch, but he could end his Raptors career on a very high note.
Grade: B-
Khem Birch
Birch and the Raptors just aren’t working out. Lacking the elite rim protection needed to fix Toronto’s woes in this area and missing the scoring chops he had last year, Birch requires a new start elsewhere.
Grade: D+
