27. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. C. Memphis. Jalen Duren. player. 11

The Knicks have a promising young duo in Obi Toppin and RJ Barrett, but the uneasiness in the frontcourt could prompt the need for a center. If Mitchell Robinson leaves, drafting another elite shot-blocker that could develop into an offensive force in Duren makes all the sense in the world.

Duren will probably be nothing more than a dunker-spot finisher as a rookie, but he still has a better future as a scorer than Robinson while still flexing that quality interior defense that drew scouts to him in the first place. New York’s youngsters are the key to returning this team to the postseason.

player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Wisconsin. 12. 149. SG. Johnny Davis

Even though Davis is an off-ball guard who struggles at shooting from 3-point range, his scoring (19.7 points per game) and rebounding (8.2 rebounds per game) have helped establish him as a lottery lock. The Badgers lived and died by Davis’ offensive mastery, which could appeal to Oklahoma City.

A creative shot-maker who plays like his hair is on fire, Davis has the potential to be the main man on the Thunder’s bench for the next half-decade. With Holmgren and Davis coming to join Gilgeous-Alexander and Giddey in town, Sam Presti’s goal of remaking OKC is one step closer to becoming a reality.

NBA Mock Draft: Mark Williams has tons of defensive potential.

C. Mark Williams. 13. player. 170. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Duke

Williams is a lumbering big man that lacks offensive nuance, but it’s hard to find a better combination of value and need for defensively-deficient Charlotte at pick No. 13 than him. With a standing reach of 9-8 and a 7-2 frame, Williams is a premium rim protector and perhaps the best rebounder in the class.

The Hornets have a solid infrastructure on offense led by LaMelo Ball, but they couldn’t stop a nosebleed in the paint. Williams is an instant starter that will be a problem for NBA rim-runners on Day 1. That physical skillset and defensive acumen often don’t last to No. 13.

Scouting Report. Ochai Agbaji. 14. Pick Analysis. SG. Kansas. player. 156

Even though he is a four-year senior with just one year of truly elite production, Agbaji will be picked in or near the lottery after being the unquestioned top scoring option on a Jayhawks team that won the national championship. Cleveland has an elite frontcourt with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, but they could use one more shooter.

With Collin Sexton’s situation up in the air, Agbaji could be a pro-ready scorer with a lethal 3-point shot who could pair nicely with Darius Garland. The Cavaliers have a good defensive coaching staff, which could help Agbaji fulfill his full potential on that end.
