Scottie Barnes: Make the All-Star team

Not only did Barnes prove the Raptors 100% correct in choosing him No. 4 overall over expected pick Jalen Suggs, but Barnes has quickly become one of the best young players at any position in the NBA. Scottie averaged 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in his rookie season.

Barnes will need to reach another level next year. After dominating the Rico Hines summer runs, Scottie is well positioned to make a run at an All-Star appearance in Salt Lake City. Fixing his 3-point shot is going to be the main obstacle in the way of his success.

Scottie Barnes is the main cog for the Toronto Raptors.

Barnes is going to be asked to shoot more and score more during his sophomore season, as Toronto has totally reoriented their timeline to accommodate him best. If they won’t even trade him to acquire Kevin Durant, that’s about the most substantial vote of confidence one could possibly have.

After a strong rookie year, Barnes will be given every opportunity to succeed in Toronto. Knowing that he’s a double-double threat already should assure anyone in the general NBA public who may doubt him that Scottie is destined for stardom.
