2. Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers have been trying to acquire Trent for a very long time, as it is clear that LeBron James and Anthony Davis need more shooters around them. Trent, a Klutch Sports client, wasn’t moved because LA lacked the assets required to compensate Toronto adequately.

The Lakers will be free of Russell Westbrook sooner rather than later, giving them the money needed to get additional co-stars that can fare a bit better from the 3-point line. The Raptors might be an ascending team, but a team spearheaded by LeBron will always be in the title fight.

Will the Lakers sign Gary Trent Jr?

Trent might not be as flashy a name as Westbrook, but his style might actually be a better fit alongside James and Davis. With his defense appealing to Darvin Ham and the ever-present Klutch connection, the Raptors need to be slightly worried about Trent getting intrigued by the Lakers.

The Raptors don’t have a ready-made shooting guard who can come in and replace Trent, making it a priority to resign him and help turn his head away from the legions of suitors. Playing in forum blue and gold will appeal to any NBA player, and Trent is no exception.
