The Toronto Raptors just saw their 2022-23 schedule revealed to the masses on Wednesday afternoon. While they have a brutal start to the season in terms of how many playoff-bound teams they will face, that schedule could ease up a bit when you look at how few back-to-backs they will have.

While Toronto already has a few important dates circled on their calendar that could help determine how far the Raptors will rise (or fall) in the standings, there are a few revenge games that Toronto will keep pinned to their proverbial corkboards in the locker room.

How could a team that essentially brought their entire rotation back for 2022 actually have a revenge game counter? Well, there are a few teams who were a thorn in Toronto’s side last year that they would love to take down a peg. Some recent acquisitions will like to stick it to their old team.

These revenge games could make for some scintillating television thanks to all of the narratives spawning from them. While the Raptors are typically very savvy with not letting unnecessary drama get to the forefront, these dates all have some intrigue hanging off of them

3. Otto Porter’s return to Golden State (1/27)

The Raptors very rarely are in a position to sign a key role player from a championship team in free agency, but they were able to convince Porter to say no to Golden State in favor of Toronto’s utterly unique way of constructing a roster. Porter’s length and shooting fit in perfectly.

Facing off against Golden State as part of a “Rivals Week” initiative to reignite the 2019 Finals intensity, Porter might try to get one over on his old teammates. While they moved on for younger players like Jonathan Kuminga, Porter was still a somewhat regular starter last year.

Toronto Raptors: Will Otto Porter Jr. get revenge on the Warriors?

The Warriors are no laughing matter without Porter. Steph Curry is still Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins had the most impactful season of his career, and young guns like Kuminga and James Wiseman will re-enter the rotation. Porter and Toronto will have to play near-perfect ball to get the win.

Porter might be the key to overcoming the Warriors. A quality shooter throughout his career who suffered from a lack of volume in Golden State, Porter might be more offensively involved with Toronto. A few timely 3-pointers will do wonders for the Raptors.
