Gary Trent Jr. vs. Portland (1/28)

The Raptors won’t have to wait long for their next revenge game, as they will make the trip up to Trent’s old stomping ground in Oregon. Trent has clearly become a better version of himself in Toronto, as his Portland play never showed signs of being this effective on both ends.

Trent, who reportedly never got his feet under him in Portland, could rub salt in the Blazers’ wounds. After trading him for Norman Powell and then getting fleeced by the Clippers one year later, the Raptors are looking like the clear winners of this Trent trade.

Toronto Raptors: Gary Trent Jr. could haunt the Blazers.

Damian Lillard will apparently not run from the grind of getting the Trail Blazers a championship, but he doesn’t have the most effective supporting cast after the CJ McCollum trade. If Chauncey Billups fails to impress as a coach, the Blazers could crash out of the postseason once again.

Even though most of the infrastructure that was in Portland when Trent was there has bit the proverbial dust, seeing GTJ light up the Blazers would put a smile on the faces of Raptors fans. Masai Ujiri very rarely loses trades, and the Trent move is looking better with each year.
