Raptors Game Tonight: Raptors vs Celtics Odds, Starting Lineup, Injury Report, Predictions, TV Channel for Oct. 14
By Mike Luciano
The Toronto Raptors started the preseason white-hot, but two losses to the Rockets and Bulls have helped cool off any momentum they may have picked up. The latest Raptors odds seem to have taken their slide into account, making them home underdogs in Montreal.
The Boston Celtics are still the reigning Eastern Conference champions, but the loss of coach Ime Udoka could be a very tall hill for them to surmount this season. Even in the preseason, Boston looked like a much more vulnerable team than they did last year.
One of Toronto’s two wins this year came at the expense of Boston, as the folks from Beantown blew a 19-point lead and eventually fell in overtime thanks to names like Josh Jackson and Jeff Dowtin. Doing it twice in two weeks would be one heck of a way to close the preseason.
Will the Raptors end the preseason with a winning record, taking down the rival Celtics twice in the process? Is there a chance that Boston ends up giving Toronto their third loss in a row before what should be a very competitive home opener against the improved Cavs?
Boston Celtics vs Toronto Raptors Odds, Spread, Over/Under
The latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook have Boston as -1.5 favorites against the spread, with this squad -110 (bet $110 to win $100) to cover. Boston is -122 on the moneyline, while Toronto checks in at an even +100 (bet $100 to win $100).
Raptors Injury Report
Otto Porter is out due to a hamstring injury, as is Chris Boucher. Malachi Flynn’s status is unknown due to a cheekbone fracture, but he is most likely out.
Toronto Raptors vs. Boston Celtics Prediction
With so many big names sitting out in this game due to injury, it will be very hard to pick a winner. Will Jackson and Justin Champagnie become stars as they fight to make it onto the roster? Will Dalano Banton be able to keep his hot streak going?
While Toronto does have their 20-point comeback as a result of their much-hyped new-look bench, the odds of that group pulling off a miracle finish twice in a few weeks is going to be extremely difficult. A 2-3 preseason isn’t amazing, but the Raptors can take solace in the fact they had some decent games.
Celtics 105, Raptors 100
