3. Coby White, Chicago Bulls

White makes too much sense as a hypothetical trade candidate, as the Zach LaVine contract combined with the emergence of Alex Caruso and Ayo Dosunmu will make it difficult for Chicago to retain him long-term. The Raptors could be a destination for him, as he would fill multiple holes in one fell swoop.

White’s scoring has fallen to 8.1 points per game, and he isn’t even hitting 40% of his shots. His defense has never been particularly exceptional. However, White seems like a perfect buy-low candidate who needs a new change of scenery to get him back in the right swing of things.

Will the Toronto Raptors resurrect Coby White?

With Nick Nurse clearly not a huge fan of their bench point guards despite Dalano Banton’s fantastic Pistons game, White would be a very interesting addition to the bench. A 6-5 guard who can play both spots, handle the ball, and shoot well, White will check a lot of Nurse’s boxes.

Toronto might be able to get him at a discount, as his value has plunged into the gutter due to his poor start to the season. We’ve seen White, who is officially back in the rumor mill, be an effective scorer in the past, and those skills could make him an ideal Sixth Man for this team in 2022-23 and beyond.
