MVP. O.G. Anunoby

If Siakam was healthy, he would have won this award by such a wide margin it would have looked silly. However, his injury created an opportunity for multiple secondary stars on this Raptors team to show they can be leaders, and Anunoby has taken full advantage.

Anunoby has averaged 19.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, though he bumped those numbers up to 22.0 points per game when Siakam went down. Very few players in the league today could fill the role that Toronto is asking Anunoby to do every night, which should help him make a very convincing All-Star case.

O.G. Anunoby has been a leader for the Toronto Raptors.

Anunoby has improved his points per game average every year he’s been in the league, with this year being his finest offensive season to date. The responsibility he has had to shoulder has been immense, but he has stepped up whenever he has been called upon.

When names like Luka Doncic are starting to give you praise, that’s how you know you’ve truly arrived. After an offseason of being hypothetically traded to Brooklyn and Oklahoma City 250 times, Anunoby is showing that he is a pillar of the future Toronto wants to build.
