3. Make a trade

The Raptors need to be aware of the fact that they are not going to win anything in the next few months unless they make some big move that changes the roster. Waiving Justin Champagnie could be a herald of Ujiri and the rest of the Raptors cooking up something big.

Getting a veteran shooter with multiple years of club control could help Toronto achieve all three of its resolutions, as they could get Siakam more support that takes the double-teams away and get some consistency from the perimeter. Grabbing a shot-blocking center like Jakob Poeltl might make sense as well.

The Toronto Raptors must make some roster changes.

While players like Siakam and Trent have shown that they can carry the load, Nurse and Ujiri might need to get them some extra help for when the last few months of the season come around. A potential postseason plan of attack might not be as potent without making a move.

The Raptors could decide to sell one of their bigger names to get better depth or package some future draft picks together for a difference-maker. Either way, inaction from Ujiri is going to be what will ultimately weigh on this team’s roster like an anchor.
