Raptors Game Tonight: Raptors vs Pacers Odds, Starting Lineup, Injury Report, Predictions, TV Channel for Jan. 2
By Mike Luciano
Despite the fact that Nick Nurse and the Toronto Raptors managed to take home a victory against a quality Western Conference contender in the Phoenix Suns to end 2022, the latest Toronto Raptors odds are very skeptical of their ability to start a winning streak on the road.
Despite the fact that the Indiana Pacers came into the season with the expectation of competing for Victor Wembanyama, the All-Star level performance of Tyrese Haliburton and the quality shooting of Buddy Hield has them fighting for a play-in spot in the crowded Eastern Conference.
The Pacers are a team that provides a very difficult matchup for Toronto. Not only do they have enough size in the paint to give them some real problems, but a collection of shooters and solid bench play led by Bennedict Mathurin could be hard for his beat-up roster to overcome.
Will the Raptors be able to make it two in a row against a team that has a very beatable defense? Will Indiana be unmoved by Toronto’s offensive pieces and once again be able to snipe them to death from 3-point range in a home victory?
Indiana Pacers vs. Toronto Raptors Odds, Spread, Over/Under
The latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook have Indiana as -1 favorites against the spread, with this squad -110 (bet $110 to win $100) to cover. Indiana is -112 on the moneyline, while Toronto checks in at -104.
The over-under is 232.5, with the over and the under both at -110.
Raptors Injury Report
Precious Achiuwa and Fred VanVleet are both listed as questionable, while Otto Porter Jr. remains out. Ron Harper Jr. and Dalano Banton will be in the G League.
Toronto Raptors vs. Indiana Pacers Prediction
The Raptors ended the year with some positive momentum, beating an excellent Suns team. Indiana may have the offensive pieces that can shred the team’s lackluster perimeter defense, but Nick Nurse can prevent that if he spent the last few days making some changes.
Defensively, even trade target Myles Turner will have a difficult time keeping Siakam at bay in this game. If No. 43 plays like his usual self and Scottie Barnes gets back to his recent double-double form, Toronto might get enough offensive mojo going to sink the Pacers.
Raptors 115, Pacers 110
