2. Patrick Williams, Chicago Bulls

Picked No. 4 overall in 2020, Williams hasn’t had the same easy start to life in the NBA as Scottie Barnes, who was another toolsy forward picked off of the Florida State bench in 2021. Williams’ scoring production has flatlined, though his injury troubles haven’t helped.

While some fans might roll their eyes at another 6-8 forward coming to the team, Williams is different in that he has connected on over 40% of his 3-point attempts in his professional career. With a higher volume of triples in Toronto, Williams might be closer to reaching his potential.

Can the Toronto Raptors rehabilitate Patrick Williams?

Williams is just 21 years old, but he’s never going to be a featured player in Chicago. If the Bulls blow it up, he’ll likely be gone. If they don’t, he will (at best) be the fifth scoring option for a team that doesn’t have tons of flexibility when it comes to their offensive loadout.

Williams is the type of player that Toronto has historically given lots of second chances to, and the team is in need of shooters in such a desperate manner that they may not have a choice but to overturn every stone in pursuit of those snipers. Williams brings that with some quality athleticism and two-way skills.
