Trade No. 2: New Orleans nabs OG Anunoby

The Pelicans would hate it if the Grizzlies beat them to the punch here, so they might need to get more aggressive than ever before if they want to turn themselves into a team that will truly be reckoned with in the West. This deal has the Pelicans diving up lots of draft capital, but they have more than enough to play around with.

In the same scheme that has turned Trey Murphy III into a dynamic role player and Herbert Jones one of the league’s most underrated players in the league will have a field day with Anunoby. His versatility and tough-as-nails defense will be warmly received alongside the core trio of Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum.

Toronto Raptors trade rumors: Pelicans make sense for OG Anunoby.

Daniels is obviously a high-end target, but he won’t have a path to a starting job as long as McCollum is there. Marshall is a nice high-energy wing to work with, while Graham is a salary-filler lottery ticket who may be a better backup point guard than Malachi Flynn.

Not only are the Pelicans interested in Anunoby, but their war chest is as expansive as any alleged contender in the business. The pairing of these two partners seems perfect, and both franchises may actually end up better off in the long run as a result.
