Gary Trent Jr. and the Toronto Raptors are back above .500 on the season following a two-game sweep of the Hornets in Charlotte, but now their attention will shift to the mighty Boston Celtics. Toronto has two more road dates with Boston before finishing the season at home.

The Raptors are currently behind the No. 8 seed Atlanta Hawks despite their identical record, meaning they need to finish the season strong and hope that Atlanta ends up bungling their last few games in order to even make it into the postseason picture without being forced to win two straight on the bounce.

The Raptors need to take care of business against Boston if they want any shot of jumping up over the Hawks and earning that No. 8 seed. It will be difficult to pull off the wins in these games, but it certainly is not going to be impossible if Toronto comes ready to play.

Is Gary Trent Jr. playing vs. Celtics?

Trent has missed Toronto’s last six games with injuries, and it doesn’t seem like he is any closer to playing in this contest. However, Nick Nurse has left the door open for a surprise return prior to this game.

Is Jaylen Brown playing vs. Raptors?

Brown, who has reportedly been looking elsewhere for his next landing spot, did not play in Boston’s recent game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Head coach Joe Mazzulla said that he expects Brown to play in this game.

Trent is still a coin flip, and the squad has listed Precious Achiuwa as questionable before game time on multiple occasions, but it looks like Trent is the only player on the active roster who may end up sitting out.

Brown, Robert Williams, and Payton Pritchard were all held out of Boston’s matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers. Brown seems ready to go, but the status of Pritchard and Williams is unknown.
