The Toronto Raptors are starting to move into the next phase of their head coaching search, as they have already interviewed Kings assistant Jordi Fernandez and top Bucks coach Charles Lee for their vacant head coaching job. Toronto appears poised to potentially snipe up one of the main generators of success for one of the top teams in the league.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and a host of others who have since confirmed his report, the Raptors are going to interview Denver Nuggets assistant coach David Adelman for their head coaching vacancy. After years of learning under Mike Malone, Adelman might be ready to take the reins of his own franchise.
Adelman, the son of Kings legend and Hall of Fame coach Rick Adelman, has been in the NBA since 2011, joining the Nuggets in 2017. Denver has been one of the best teams in the league over the last few years, largely due to Nikola Jokic’s development into a two-time MVP. Adelman likely had a massive role in that.
In much the same way as Lee or Suns assistant Kevin Young, Toronto has the chance to potentially get in on the ground floor of something very special if Adelman exceeds expectations. Bringing parts of the Nuggets’ offense to Toronto might help them get back on track to being a feared team.

- Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report said that Jakob Poeltl is viewed around the league as a “lock” to return to the Raptors. Considering all of the draft capital they invested into making sure he came to town and his stellar performances on the floor, Poeltl coming back seemed like a natural decision.,
- Mike Ganter of the Toronto Sun advocated for the Raptors parting ways with OG Anunoby this offseason. The logic stemmed from the idea that Anunoby improving offensively won’t make a dent in the team’s overall performance on that end, while a trade could help Scottie Barnes shine.

- Despite Nikola Jokic scoring a ridiculous 53 points on the road in Game 4 of the Denver Nuggets’ series against the Phoenix Suns, yet another masterful showing by the 1-2 punch of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker helped Monty Williams’ squad tie this series up at 2-2. Neither team has won on the road yet in this series.
