The Toronto Raptors are one of many teams who may need to get on the horn with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers have the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, but they have not so subtly hinted that they will look to trade that pick away for a veteran like OG Anunoby that can help them win now.

The No. 3 pick in this draft will guarantee Toronto a shot at either standout point guard Scoot Henderson or Alabama wing Brandon Miller, both of whom would go No. 1 overall in most drafts without a generational prospect like Victor Wembanyama. John Hollinger seems to think a deal could get done.

Per the Athletic, Hollinger reported that speculation of a Blazers trade is afoot. The package that will be shipped out includes the No. 3 pick and rising star guard Anfernee Simons. That package would reportedly be shopped away in exchange for a starting small forward.

The OG Anunoby rumors are not going to stop, especially since it will take a gargantuan offer that borders on the ridiculous to get Pascal Siakam out of town. Will Toronto and Portland link back up and consummate another big trade that changes the scope of both franchises?

Toronto Raptors trade rumors: OG Anunoby to Portland?

Anunoby needs a new contract after this season, and the impending extensions for Siakam, Scottie Barnes, and whoever gets signed in this offseason will make it tough for the Raptors to keep everybody. This deal could help them reset the clock and land a game-changing prospect like Henderson.

While Henderson profiles as a dynamic ball-handler that can tear down the rim, Miller is an elite shooter. Either one of them could be a franchise cornerstone that helps their short-term need for offensive improvement while helping them keep their future prospects alive.

Simons might rank as one of the worst defensive players in the league, but his scoring and shooting skills exceed what Gary Trent Jr. brought to the fold by leaps and bounds. Simons would immediately be the best non-Siakam offensive player on this team, and he will only turn 24 years old in June.
