Better: A new offensive-minded coaching staff

The Raptors noticed that Nick Nurse was clearly not getting the job done when it came to creating a solid half-court offense, which prompted the firing. New head coach Darko Rajakovic seems like a mind that could come in and bring some fresh ideas that shock the system.

Rajakovic not only has a decade of experience in the NBA, but his most recent stint as a coach was under Taylor Jenkins in Memphis. With Jenkins running one of the most effective offenses in the league thanks to his derivative of Mike Budenholzer’s scheme, Rajakovic will likely bring something similar to Toronto.

Darko Rajakovic could help the Toronto Raptors.

Not only is Rajakovic bringing a better offensive structure, but he has helped multiple fringe shooters turn into legitimate stars in Oklahoma City and Memphis. Toronto needs shooting as badly as any team in the league, making the hiring of Rajakovic that much savvier.

Rajakovic’s history in developing young talent is going to appeal to a front office that has talked up and down for hours on end about their desire to turn their current batch of neophyte players into consistent two-way stars. Will Rajakovic vibe with this roster better than Nurse?
