Is Precious Achiuwa playing tonight? Latest injury update for 76ers vs Raptors 11/2
By Mike Luciano
The Toronto Raptors got back on track in emphatic fashion, beating one-time trade target Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks to such a preposterous degree that it will assuredly stand as one of the biggest upsets in the 2023-24 NBA season. They accomplished this without the services of promising young big man Precious Achiuwa.
Achiwua has been his usual, inconsistent self to begin the season. While his defense is sparkling, and his athletic ability makes his star potential obvious to all, he also had some struggles finishing at the rim and playing too out of control. In other words, standard Achiuwa stuff.
Still, if Toronto wants to maintain its status as one of the best defensive teams in the league while also continuing to rebound well against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, it would be better if Achiuwa was able to suit up. He will bring energy, size, and athleticism to the picture, if nothing else.
Precious Achiuwa Injury Status for tonight’s game vs. 76ers
Achiuwa hasn’t been cleared to play, and the fact Toronto is on the second night of a back-to-back might make it more difficult for Achiuwa to get on the floor if he is anything less than 100% healthy. Will Darko Rajakovic push him?
Who would replace Precious Achiuwa in the rotation?
Otto Porter Jr. got his first minutes of the young season in the win against Milwaukee, and it stands to reason that he will be back on the floor if Achiuwa is unable to go. Jalen McDaniels isn’t an option at this point, as he was given a DNP in the Bucks game.
