No. 2: Dennis Schroder, Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets were supposed to be the league's doormat this season, and by design. They traded away Mikal Bridges and traded for their first-round pick back, which set up a season of tanking to try and land a franchise superstar such as Cooper Flagg (something the Raptors may aim to do themselves).

The problem the Nets have is that they have not yet traded away the rest of their veterans, and those players are not trying to lose games. That includes Dennis Schroder, who was only briefly on the Raptors last season but put up a few memorable performances during his half-season in town. He is now the starting point guard for the Nets, and he has been balling out.

In three games, Schroder is averaging 20.7 points and 6.3 assists, both of which would be career-highs at the age of 31. He is shooting a sizzling 55.6 percent from deep and drawing 4.7 free-throw attempts per game. He just dropped 29 points as the Nets upset the Milwaukee Bucks in one of the most shocking results of the season.

Schroder is likely just showcasing himself for a trade, and another team is extremely likely to come calling given the performance he has put up thus far. If he can shoot anywhere near this well for the next few weeks he could be on the move quickly, as the Nets want to both sell high on the veteran point guard and ensure he doesn't help them win any more games. This season is about losing for the Nets, and Schroder is going to do a whole lot of winning.
