No. 2: Shead's Track Record Of Success
If there is one thing that the Raptors rookie is familiar with after his four seasons in the NCAA, it would be winning.
Shead has posted strong marks in terms of his win shares and win shares per 48 during his college career. His senior season, when he won Big 12 Player of the Year, was his most impressive.
Shead posted 6.3 win shares while averaging .220 win shares per 48. Houston finished the season 32-5 in the process.
Just wanted to bring back the fact that Jamal Shead had a ridiculous 120-18 record with the University of Houston, and won POTY and DPOY in the same season.

A big part of the reason for Houston's success was his steady play overall as the lead guard. Shead was an effective leader at the point guard position for the Cougars. It does not always reflect in the numbers for him. Although, his 6.3 assists per game (and 8.1 per 40) are certainly nothing to scoff at.
The intangibles of Shead, as a player who wants to play within the offense and elevate those around him, are exactly the kind of attributes that one would look for from their backup point guard.
