No. 1: Scottie Barnes Starring As The Face Of The Franchise

Last season was extremely encouraging for Scottie Barnes. In his third year as an NBA pro, he was selected to his first NBA All-Star Game. He was rewarded for it in the offseason, signing the largest contract in franchise history.

The expectations are high for Barnes entering his fourth season in the league. The former Rookie of the Year has developed into a tremendous all-around star. Now, he has to prove that he can be 'the guy' for the Raptors.

Following Pascal Siakam's trade to the Indiana Pacers, Barnes averaged 19.3 points and 7.0 assists per game as the leading option offensively for the Raptors. His season was then cut short by a hand injury that resulted in him missing the last 22 games of the 2023-24 campaign.

Barnes displayed some flashes of brilliance on the offensive end for the Raptors in the preseason. He scored 26 points and added 10 assists against the Boston Celtics in the matchup on October 15th. He also scored 21 points in 26 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets in the Raptors' preseason finale.

The Cavaliers ranked 7th in terms of defensive rating during the 2023-24 season. They should provide a healthy test for Barnes' ability to be the offensive engine for the Raptors.
