The Raptors haven’t had a player make any of the three All-NBA teams since the 2021-22 season. Pascal Siakam made the All-NBA Third Team that year. It was his second consecutive All-NBA selection and the ninth in Raptors’ franchise history. Scottie Barnes came close to ending the drought this year, but ultimately didn’t make it, much to the dismay of Raptors fans.
This season, the Raptors should have an excellent case for at least one All-NBA player.
When Kawhi Leonard is healthy and consistently available, he is one of the best players in the league. He was named to the All-NBA Second Team this year after averaging 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.9 steals over 65 games for the Clippers. He could easily earn his second All-NBA selection with the Raptors.
Even if Leonard isn’t healthy enough to warrant an All-NBA selection, Scottie Barnes should be in the running as well. He should be even better than he was last season. Not only did he discover a new offensive level in the playoffs, but with Leonard in the mix, the offense should open up for him. Barnes is a great player, but when Leonard is on the court, teams will throw their best defenders at him. When Leonard is out due to injuries or load management, Barnes will have to carry much of the Raptors’ offense. All of that combined could lead to his best scoring season yet and his first All-NBA selection.
The Raptors could even have two All-NBA representatives
It’s a possibility that both Kawhi Leonard and Scottie Barnes play at an All-NBA level for at least 65 games without taking anything away from each other.
Over the last three seasons, seven teams had two players make All-NBA teams. In 2023-24, it was the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker and LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They finished sixth and seventh in the Western Conference, respectively. Since then, only top three teams in their conferences have had more than one player on an All-NBA team—the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Oklahoma City Thunder in 2024-25, and the Thunder and Detroit Pistons in 2025-26.
So, if the Raptors find enough team success, two All-NBA selections are a possibility.
