10 Players still available for Raptors to sign in free agency
Veterans: Gordon Hayward, Cedi Osman, Taurean Prince, Luke Kennard
If the Toronto Raptors want to add another veteran player to the roster, someone to fill their role and provide wisdom and experience for the group, there are a number of names still available on the open market.
At the higher-end of the Raptors' available money, Luke Kennard may be gettable if the Memphis Grizzlies don't work out a deal to bring him back. The former Duke sharpshooter is remarkably accurate and consistent from 3-point range, hitting at least 44.6 percent of his 3-pointers in four straight seasons.
Taurean Prince is a 6'6" combo forward with great strength and defensive chops, and he has been a consistent shoot from 3-point range for years now. Last year he shot 39.6 percent from deep for the Los Angeles Lakers who were essentially forced to let him walk because worse players picked up player options to stay on the roster. That means another team could sign Prince for a little above the minimum and get a solid 3-and-D contributor.
Cedi Osman is in a similar boat, except he offers less defense and more offensive pop. The longtime Cleveland Cavaliers wing played last season with the San Antonio Spurs and was one of their few consistent players on offense. He would be something of a like-for-like RJ Barrett backup, able to mimic some of his ball-handling and scoring ability in a less-effective package.
Finally, Gordon Hayward is the player with the greatest pedigree of this entire group, a former All-Star and max player who has seen his game erode significantly due to injury. He was seemingly afraid to shoot upon arriving in Oklahoma City at the Trade Deadline, but at the same time averaged 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists for the Charlotte Hornets prior to being traded. He may have something left in the tank, and it won't take much to find out.
