No. 3: What's the goal for this season?

There are a few other questions that could push for this slot: Is Masai Ujiri's job safe? Is Darko Rajakovic on the hot seat himself? Was Jonathan Mogbo drafted because he's friends with Scottie Barnes? Will Ochai Agbaji have his fourth-year option picked up?

Above all of those questions, however, another one looms large: what is the goal of the Toronto Raptors for the 2024-25 NBA season? Is it to win as many games as possible and push for a playoff spot? Is it to evaluate their young talent to know who is a part of the future? Is it to find a trade partner for Brown and Jakob Poeltl and try to get one more Top 10 pick in a loaded draft to add to the core?

It's unlikely that Team President Masai Ujiri makes it crystal clear what they are pursuing, but there should be hints in what he and others say to piece it together. Is the organization acting like a group trying to maximize winning, balance the present and future, or solely focused on the long-term vision?

Those clues are present no matter what your presupposition toward the answer; the Raptors filled the roster with rookies instead of veteran additions, but they also didn't trade Poeltl, Brown or Kelly Olynyk. So what's the goal?

Hopefully, Ujiri and the coaching staff and even the players will be extremely open, and we will gain a lot of knowledge from Media Day. Everything kicks off at 10:30 AM ET in Montreal, and you can check back here tonight as we provide reactions to everything said and done.
