One month ago when free agency began players and teams were agreeing to contracts at lightning speed. A week in, however, things suddenly went quiet, and now there are days, not minutes between signings.

That means there are still some players available on the free agency market, from proud veterans expecting a payday to prospects and projects hoping to get one more chance to prove themselves in the league.

The Toronto Raptors have just 14 guaranteed contracts and room under the luxury tax to add another player to compete for that final spot in training camp. Who is still out there for the team to bring in? Let's look at three different players, each representing a different kind of player the Raptors could target.

No. 3: Kevin Knox II

Kevin Knox II was drafted ninth overall by the New York Knicks in the 2018 NBA Draft, and he has all of the on-paper qualities of an NBA player: he is 6'7", can defend multiple positions, and is comfortable shooting from all three levels.

The problem is that Knox's comfort level has never translated into efficiency; he is a career 34.1 percent 3-point shooter and has hit a ghastly 39.2 percent of his overall shots.

Yet Knox has hung around the league because of his size and potential, and he showed up in Las Vegas Summer League this year playing for the Golden State Warriors and was one of the best players in the desert, scoring at a high clip and rebounding with ferocity.

The Raptors could sign Knox to a non-guaranteed deal to come and compete in training camp, recognizing that they could desperately use a player of his size to provide much-needed forward depth - a roster weakness they can't seem to realize that they have. If he hits, Knox has a chance to rehabillitate his career and begin earning real contracts in the league.
