Gradey Dick is untouchable

When the Toronto Raptors drafted Gradey Dick with the 13th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, they added a movement shooter with a lot of upside to be even more. He looked like the ideal sort of player to pair with a shooting-challenged roster like the Raptors had.

Then the rookie had a slow start to his career, coupled with the Raptors suddenly loading the roster with shooting guards throughout the year. Suddenly, Gradey Dick wasn't simply waiting for Gary Trent Jr.'s contract to expire to set into a starting role; he was also battling with Ochai Agbaji, Bruce Brown Jr., RJ Barrett and Trent for minutes on the wing.

The exciting thing for Toronto fans is that despite the increased competition, Gradey Dick won. No player logged more minutes after the All-Star Break for the Raptors than his 748, and he shot a respectable 37.1 percent despite a paucity of shot creation around him. On catch-and-shoot 3-pointers he shot 40.7 percent during that stretch.

The Raptors' offseason moves will likely determine whether or not Gradey Dick enters next season as a starter, but he proved himself as a part of Toronto's long-term future and his future is bright to continue improving as a player in a Raptors uniform.
