No. 1: Chris Boucher
The Toronto Raptors are quite proud of the fact that they scooped Chris Boucher off of the trash heap and turned him into an impact NBA player, a shot-blocking, 3-point launching blurry sketch of a unicorn.
At some point, however, their love of the player and their own pride at developing him will give way to the practical argument that he is no longer going to help this team. As they undergo this roster transformation and soft rebuild, Boucher doesn't fit in anymore.
Despite playing just 7 years in the league thus far, Boucher is already 31 years old, the third-oldest player on the roster behind Kelly Olynyk and "Grandfather" Garrett Temple. He also has seen his impact erode over the past few years, and he averaged just 14.1 minutes per game last season and took only 4.3 shots per contest.
Now coming off of a knee injury, Boucher simply doesn't factor into Toronto's plans. The difficulty in moving him is that few teams want to spend $10.8 million on such a player, even if he does have a tantalizing skillset. In the process of a trade, however, the Raptors may be able to include Boucher's expiring deal and move off of him.
It's certainly possible that other players find themselves involved in trade rumors during the year, or that they are even moved, but these three players are the most likely players to be gone this year.
