The Toronto Raptors have slowly descended from the mountaintop over the past five seasons.

After winning the 2019 NBA Championship, the Raptors have spiraled toward the bottom of the league, and last year won just 25 games. Unsurprisingly, against most teams in the league the Raptors have a tied or losing record in their last 10 games. Interestingly enough, the Raptors have won their last game against just six foes, and they only have one "winning streak" -- three straight over the Charlotte Hornets.

On the far other end of the spectrum, which teams are clobbering the Raptors right now? Some teams are coming out ahead, but a handful have Toronto's number. Let's look at which teams those are, and when the Raptors can first get revenge in the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.

No. 5: Utah Jazz

We start with something of a shocker, as the Utah Jazz have not been much of a powerhouse over the last could of seasons. Since trading off of Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell the Jazz have been firmly in the lottery, but even so, they are 7-3 in their last 10 games against the Raptors and have won 4 straight over them.

That includes a 32-point beatdown the Jazz laid on the Raptors last January, one of Pascal Siakam's last games for the team. Utah put up 145 points and had three players score 20+ points. Toronto's last win over Utah came in January of 2022, when Fred VanVleet dropped a 37 point tripe double.

The Raptors have an excellent shot at breaking the streak this season, as the Utah Jazz look primed to lose a lot of basketball games and the Raptors hope to be improved from last season. What's more, the two teams do not face each other until March 7, at which point the Jazz will likely have traded multiple veterans and be fully embracing the tank.

No. 4: New York Knicks

On sheer point differential alone, the New York Knicks belong on this list. The two teams played four times last season, all four Toronto losses. In their last meeting the Knicks took a mallet and clobbered the Raptors to the tune of a 145-101 victory, a staggering 44 point margin of victory. The game before New York won by 26.

The season before, 2022-23, the results were much closer; four single-digit results, with the Raptors going 3-1 over the Knicks. In the Raptors' last win over the Knicks RJ Barrett led New York in scoring with 30 points, while the Raptors got 24 or more from VanVleet, Siakam and Gary Trent Jr.

The Raptors will be significant underdogs when they play the Knicks in early December, with New York in position to push the Boston Celtics for the No. 1 seed. It will be an emotional affair, with RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley facing off against OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa.

No. 3: LA Clippers

The Western Conference has had its share of powerhouse teams over the past five seasons, but rather than the Denver Nuggets or Golden State Warriors, the team that has owned the Toronto Raptors the most from out west is the LA Clippers, who have gone 8-2 in their last 10 meetings.

That includes four-straight losses, the latest of which was a 20-point demolition where James Harden put up a 22-point triple double and Russell Westbrook dropped 20 of his own. In those 10 meetings the Clippers have outscored the Raptors by an average of 8.8 points per game.

The LA Clippers figure to take a step back this season after losing Paul George, and the Raptors will have their first crack at breaking the streak on November 9. They will be playing in the newly-opened Intuit Dome, the new home of the Clippers.

No. 2: Philadelphia 76ers

Thus far we have been discussing regular season matchups alone, but the last time the Toronto Raptors were in the playoffs they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, and the last two games of that 2022 series still factor into the evaluation here. In all, the 76ers have won 8 of their last 10 over the Raptors, and a whopping seven straight.

That includes three double-digit losses last season, including a late-season matchup where a 76ers team playing without Joel Embiid still dropped 135 on the Raptors, with Kelly Oubre Jr. scoring 32 points and Cameron Payne somehow scoring 24. Names like Javon Freeman-Liberty, Mouhamadou Gueye and Kobi Simmons played significant roles for the Raptors. The end of last season was rough.

In just the second game of the season the Raptors will get their shot at revenge, facing a new-look Sixers squad that added Paul George, Caleb Martin, Andre Drummond and Guerschon Yabusele this summer. Joel Embiid is unlikely to be injured that early into the season, making it a tall order for Toronto to break the streak.

No. 1: Boston Celtics

It's likely no surprise that the best team in the NBA, both last season and on-average over the past few seasons, would be beating up on the Toronto Raptors. Even so, the numbers are staggering. The Boston Celtics have won 9 of their last 10 games over the Raptors, including a painful eight-straight, and in the last five seasons the Celtics are 16-3 over the Raptors.

The Celtics' elite defense has absolutely smothered the Raptors in recent games, holding them to only 96 points in their last meeting as the Raptors shot just 4-for-32 (12.5 percent) from 3-point range. The last Raptors win came back in 2022, an overtime game against the Celtics' backups (Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown didn't suit up) where is took 40 points from Pascal Siakam to come out on top. The Raptors' last regulation win over the Celtics was back in October of 2021.

The Celtics look once again like the cream of the crop in the NBA, but perhaps the championship glow will make them vulnerable to an upset by a lesser foe. The two teams will meet at least four times this season, and Toronto will have multuple chances to break the streak.

There are a lot of teams beating up on the Toronto Raptors right now. As the team improves, they'll look to break those streaks and climb the ladder in the NBA.
