One of the closer spreads on the Wednesday NBA slate is in the Dallas Mavericks-Toronto Raptors game, as the Raps find themselves as short underdogs at home.

Dallas has been elite against the spread as a road favorite – going 11-3 – but the team is on the second night of a back-to-back, which could make this a tricky game to predict.

So, why not look elsewhere for our best bets?

There are two prop bets that I’m eyeing in this game, including one for Luka Doncic on his birthday.

Plus, Scottie Barnes could be undervalued as a rebounder against this Dallas frontcourt. Let’s break down each of these picks:

Mavericks vs. Raptors best NBA prop bets

  • Scottie Barnes OVER 7.5 rebounds
  • Luka Doncic OVER 3.5 3-pointers made

Scottie Barnes OVER 7.5 rebounds

Dating back to before the All-Star break, Scottie Barnes has eight or more rebounds in six of his last seven games.

Over that stretch, he’s averaging a shocking 10.0 boards on 15.6 rebound chances per game. That sets up well for his matchup tonight, as Dallas is one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA, ranking 28th in the league in rebounding percentage.

Barnes is averaging 8.2 rebounds per game this season, so I don’t mind taking him to hit his season average against this weak Dallas frontcourt.

Luka Doncic OVER 3.5 3-pointers made

There are so many ways to consider betting on Luka Doncic since he stuffs the stat sheet night in and night out, but my favorite on Wednesday is in the 3-point market.

Luka is set at 3.5 3-pointers made, yet he’s cleared this total in eight of his last 10 games, averaging 4.2 made shots from 3 on 10 attempts per game in that stretch.

Doncic is shooting a career-high 38.4 percent from 3 this season, a great percentage when you consider how many shots he takes from deep per game (10.3 this season).

Toronto hasn’t exactly defended the 3-ball well, ranking 19th in the league in both opponent 3-pointers made per game and opponent 3-point percentage. I think Doncic gets a little birthday magic going and hits four triples for the fourth straight game.
