No. 5: Cam Christie, Guard, Minnesota (28th)

The Toronto Raptors need to continue to add shooting, as the modern NBA demands as few non-shooters in a rotation as possible and the Raptors have a long way to climb after being among the five worst shooting teams in the league last season.

Cam Christie is a true sharpshooter, a sniper who is comfortable shooting from any position and from anywhere on the court. He has the footwork of a much older player which allows him to square to the rim sprinting off of screens and elevate high on his shot.

Christie has solid size for a shooting guard at 6'5" with a 6'8" wingspan, but he is slight and lacks the strength to make much of an impact defensively. He frequently loses his man and is off-balance closing out to shooters, and defending on-ball is mostly a question of how quickly his man will beat him.

The Raptors or whatever team drafts Christie won't be landing a future star, but they will be getting a bench gunner who will fill a role and fill it well. If he can add strength he can improve enough not to be benched during the playoffs and there will be many games he comes in off the bench and hits three triples in a quarter to turn a game.
