Grade the Trade: Raptors make another deal with Knicks, draft big in newest proposal

The Toronto Raptors are looking for Bruce Brown trades, and this deal would land them a first-round pick if they can stomach doing business with the Knicks.

Laying out the trade details

The New York Knicks were in a position to challenge the Boston Celtics for the Eastern Conference crown in the playoffs this past year. They had a team stocked full of high-motor, two-way players all filling roles around an MVP candidate in Jalen Brunson.

Then injuries struck, as they did nearly every team in the Eastern Conference playoffs, and player after player went down for the Knicks until they sputtered out in Game 7 of the second round. Heading into next season the Knicks hope to bring back the same core (assuming OG Anunoby re-signs) but they will need to continue upgrading that group to keep up in the East.

Bruce Brown becomes a potential trade target for the Knicks, who can get close on matching salary and have a pair of first-round picks in this year's draft to use as ammunition. Here is a potential deal, first proposed by Jacob Gramenga of Bleacher Report, that would send Brown to the Knicks on draft night:

Brown to Knicks for Bogey deal

The New York Knicks are unlikely to have a large role for Bogdanovic when fully healthy, not with Julius Randle and OG Anunoby taking up all of the minutes at power forward. Bruce Brown gives them another wing defender and a secondary playmaker who can pair with Miles McBride to run the offense when Jalen Brunson sits. The Knicks are unlikely to keep both of their first-round picks in the 2024 draft, so that allows them to flip one for a player who better fits Tom Thibodeau's mantra of hustle and defend.

Would the Toronto Raptors make this trade? Should they? Let's take a closer look, and then see who they would take with the No. 24 pick.
