Tier 3: Offensive Engines (cont)

7. Damian Lillard, Milwaukee Bucks

The Damian Lillard experience for the Milwaukee Bucks last season was not what they expected, as minor injuries and coaching turmoil slowed the integration of one of the league's best scorers into his new team. The chemistry between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Lillard should have been elite, but it never clicked.

Having a full offseason to get healthy and build those bonds should help Lillard, and he is not that far removed from a truly special offensive season. If he can bring that level of play back, the Bucks are once again a title contender, and Lillard can creep back up these rankings for his swan song. It's also possible he has lost something at 34 years old that is never coming back.

6. Jrue Holiday, Boston Celtics

The Milwaukee Bucks once traded for Jrue Holiday and promptly won the championship. When they decided to replace him with Lillard last summer, he went to Boston...who promptly won the championship. That is of course part coincidence, but in large part a nod to the impact Holiday has on winning at the highest levels.

He is one of the best guard defenders in the league, able to lock down at the point of attack, check larger wings or even battle in the paint with bigs, and his help defense from the nail is the best in the NBA. On offense he is a well-rounded player who won't awe the crowd but can shoot, score, pass and cut. He was an elite addition for the Celtics.
