Group 3: Make me an offer

Kelly Olynyk, Bruce Brown, Jonathan Mogbo

We enter the next ring of players on the roster, those who are not "core players" but are not simply throw-ins to a deal, either. These are players who have distinct value around the league to the right teams.

Kelly Olynyk was worth at least half of a late first-round pick in February when the Raptors traded for him, immediately signing him to a two-year extension that will pay him through 2025-26. While he is aging and has never provided much defensive value, he is an elite shooting big man who can unlock a number of lineups offensively. On a reasonable $26 million deal over the next two years, Olynyk would have suitors if the Raptors made him available.

That question is more difficult to answer for Bruce Brown, who has been made available with no trade yet. He is a more valuable player who was part of a championship team less than two years ago. On the other hand, he is a shaky shooter making $23 million; while that is an expiring deal, opening up trade possibilities for Toronto to take on more money,

Finally, Jonathan Mogbo is an intriguing player to evaluate. On the one hand, he was the first pick in the second round and on a bargain deal for the next few seasons. On the other, he was something of a reach at 31, and until he accomplishes something or shows flashes his value will likely be lower than the pick itself was.
