On Jan. 27, the San Antonio Spurs shocked the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 113-112 win. Since then, the Spurs have continued to cement themselves in the basement of the Western Conference, losing their last seven games.

The Raptors haven’t been much better, losing eight of their last 11 while selling off pieces at the trade deadline. Can you back Toronto as a home favorite against the lowly Spurs? Here’s the betting preview for Monday’s cross-conference contest with a best bet.

Spurs vs. Raptors key players to watch

Spurs

Devin Vassell: The former first-round pick has been San Antonio’s leading scorer in seven of the last eight games. The Florida State product is averaging 23.2 points per game in February and shooting 47.3% from the field in five games this month. He had a 30-point performance in Thursday’s loss to Orlando.

Raptors

Scottie Barnes: Speaking of former Florida State Seminoles, Barnes is part of Toronto’s future with the Raptors building around the small forward at the deadline. Barnes, who is averaging 20.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season, logged his first double-double since Dec. 8 in Saturday’s loss to Cleveland, finishing with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Spurs vs. Raptors prediction and pick

Both of these teams are looking forward to the NBA Draft, but only has shown some life recently on the court.

The Spurs are losing by 11.4 points a night over its seven-game losing streak and have covered just once in that stretch (a 114-113 loss to New Orleans as an 8.5-point underdog). Toronto has won two of its last three games and have covered in four of its last eight.

Toronto still has its core intact after the dust settled from the trade deadline and the trio of Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett (two December additions) should be able to lead the Raptors’ offense against a Spurs team that is No. 25 in defensive rating.

San Antonio, 11-15 ATS as a road underdog, is 26th in the NBA in scoring on the road and have lost by 12-plus points in each of its first three games of its current nine-game road trip. Lay the points with the Raptors.
