1. Isaiah Collier
Collier was viewed as the number-one pick at one point this season, but his stock faded as his shooting dipped and his turnovers rose. The 6’5 guard is a strong scorer with an NBA-ready body, but can he become a star with a subpar jumper and a barely over one-to-one assist-to-turnover ratio?
Collier is a plus athlete who wants to get downhill. He will attack the rim and create opportunities for his teammates. There is plenty to like about his game. The 19-year-old could still be a top-ten pick on draft night or he may fall into the 20s. His range is wide because he has lacked consistency during his freshman season at USC.
The Raptors have Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley, so they could afford to ease Collier into the NBA. He needs time and reps to improve his game. His jumper, playmaking, and defense should get better. He may never become an NBA superstar, but Collier could blossom into a starter for a decade at the next level.
The Toronto Raptors just kicked off a rebuild around Scottie Barnes. They would love to have their first-round pick in 2024, but even if it heads to San Antonio, the franchise will have two selections to make. The Raptors must nail them. College basketball is just heating up, so keep an eye on who Toronto could target.
