2. Donovan Mitchell

This is a massive offseason for Mitchell and the Cavaliers. The five-time All-Star will have one year plus a player option remaining on his contract and be extension-eligible. Cleveland will offer him a max deal, but does Mitchell accept? If not, the Cavaliers should put him on the trade block. They cannot afford to let him get to free agency and lose him for nothing.

Cleveland gave up three first-round draft picks, two swaps, and three talented players to get Mitchell. He has only improved with the Cavaliers, and the franchise will be looking for a massive return. Toronto has extra draft selections and young talent to put in the package.

Can Barnes convince his All-Star teammate to join him in Toronto? Mitchell is an elite scorer and shot-creator. He is capable of taking his game to another level in the playoffs and could be the missing second star on the Raptors. Barnes and Mitchell could be the new Lowry and DeRozan but with more defensive potential.

Donovan Mitchell may be the best available star this summer, but there is a situation worth watching closely. If things go south, there could be a perennial MVP candidate on the trade block.
