The Toronto Raptors have had a relatively quiet offseason. They re-signed a couple of players, made some draft picks, pulled off a trade. Nothing earth-shattering or franchise-shifting. As things have quieted down to a whisper in the NBA, fans of the Raptors are joining 29 other franchises in asking: when is basketball back?

The first step to the season is officially Media Day, where players, coaches and executives talk about what's ahead and do their photo ops and fun little promotional videos. Then it's nose to the grind as training camps open across the country, preparing for a preseaosn slate and then the start of the 82-game regular season.

When will things begin for the Raptors?

When is Toronto Raptors Media Day?

The Toronto Raptors will hold Media Day on Monday, September 30 in Toronto. Most NBA teams will hold their media day the same day. Questions that may come up include trade interest in Bruce Brown, the health status of Scottie Barnes, Jakob Poeltl and Chris Boucher (who all ended last season injured) and the new contracts for Barnes and Immanuel Quickley.

When is Toronto Raptors training camp?

Training Camp for the Toronto Raptors will begin on Tuesday, October 1 and go through Saturday, October 5. This will be the first training camp with the team for more than half of the roster, so it marks an opportunity for head coach Darko Rajakovic to teach his system to the entire team and equip them for the season to come.

Where will the Toronto Raptors hold training camp?

The Toronto Raptors will hold training camp in Montreal at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). This is the second time the Raptors have had training camp in the province of Quebec, practicing in Quebec City in 2019, but this is their first time in Montreal.

Head coach Darko Rajakovic spoke warmly of the opportunity to prepare in Quebec: “Montréal’s passion and enthusiasm for basketball and the Raptors is undeniable,” said Rajaković. “We’re looking forward to spending the week in such a beautiful place and soaking up the atmosphere and culture of the city. This is an important week of basketball for our team and UQAM offers us a great facility as we prepare for the upcoming season.”

The team will leave Toronto on September 30 after training camp and make their way to Montreal for practice to begin the following morning.

Which players will attend the Toronto Raptors training camp?
