What do Vince Carter, the Maine Red Claws, and Lonzo Ball all have in common? They're all featured topics in this week's Raptors News!

The NBA regular season is just one week away, which means teams are wrapping up preseason action this week and looking ahead to games that truly matter. Which storylines are most important to follow? We've got it all here for you on Raptors News every Tuesday!

Vince Carter now a Hall of Famer

For some bizarre reason, the NBA chooses to hold its Hall of Fame induction ceremony right in the middle of preseason, as current players, coaches and team personnel are locked into preparing for the start of the season. Actual preseason games take place during the ceremony itself, ensuring many who care the most about basketball will be attending or watching games instead of the Hall of Fame. It's a very weird decision by the league.

Nonetheless, it did take place, and Vince Carter is now in the Hall of Fame, inducted as a member of the Toronto Raptors. While Carter did play for a plethora of teams he broke through to become a star in Toronto, earning the nickname "Vinsanity" and winning the iconic 2000 Dunk Contest in that classic purple.

Tracy McGrady and Julius "Dr. J" Erving were on stage welcoming him into the brotherhood of best ever, and he shared warm moments of his time with the Raptors.

The love for Vince Carter will continue this season, as both the Raptors and Brooklyn Nets will be retiring his jersey this year. It will be the first ever jersey retired in the history of the Raptors' franchise. Check out this walkthrough of Carter's career done by Justin Robertson for Bleacher Report.
