Scottie Barnes is truly a do-it-all presence for the Toronto Raptors.

I believe many in Raptors Nation have recognized this ability for years, but luckily for us, it's largely been a breakout season for the 24-year-old star. As such, Barnes has been blessed with several honors already in the 2025-26 campaign, like a defensive recognition in December, and recently taking home the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week award.

Playing alongside his best co-star in years — since briefly teaming with OG Anunoby, Fred VanVleet, and Pascal Siakam — the duo of Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram has made for very enjoyable Raptors basketball.

The 2026 NBA All-Star starters were just announced. In the final fan voting tally, Scottie Barnes finished 12th with 434,763 votes, while his teammate Brandon Ingram secured the 10th spot with 512,837 votes. While Ingram and Barnes didn’t make the coveted list of starters, there’s hope that the coaches’ panel will recognize that one, or ideally both, are deserving of a spot in the LA festivities.

Hopefully, this voting judgment is motivated by the fact that Scottie Barnes is the only player in the entire NBA to achieve this impressive statistic.

Scottie Barnes leads a select group in reaching this elite statistical level

Notably, Scottie Barnes stands alone as the singular NBA player this season to score over 800 points, grab more than 300 rebounds, and record over 50 blocks (per Raptors PR). To be exact, as of now, Mr. Scottie B. has scored 842 points, grabbed 355 rebounds, and tallied an impressive 59 blocks. While such a feat is quite specific and might seem like a stretch to highlight Barnes' brilliance, it still places him in a truly unique category.

For context, other NBA stars close to Barnes's level include Kevin Durant (991 points, 206 rebounds, 36 blocks), Cade Cunningham (924 points, 214 rebounds, 30 blocks), rookie Cooper Flagg (impressively boasting 770 points, 257 rebounds, and 32 blocks), and fellow Raptors favorite Brandon Ingram (913 points, 254 rebounds, 32 blocks).

While some players on this list may outscore Barnes, it's his exceptional rebounding and defensive intensity where the former Rookie of the Year still holds a clear edge over his peers.

This year's NBA All-Star Game will showcase the USA's best against the World's best in a round-robin format, and there's no doubt that Scottie Barnes is one of the league's top American talents right now. Raptors Nation will be looking forward to February 1 (when the reserves are announced), hopeful that Scottie Barnes is properly recognized for his efforts in earning his second All-Star selection.
