For a team like the Toronto Raptors, draft night can be a valuable opportunity to acquire impact players for the future, whether through their own selections or by picking up undrafted talents left by the wayside.

As I covered recently in the wake of Toronto's blockbuster move to acquire Brandon Ingram, it marked the first time a star player requested a trade to the Raptors as his primary destination. Prior to that big splash move, history has shown that stars typically blossom out of the draft in Toronto, such as Chris Bosh, DeMar DeRozan, Pascal Siakam, and Scottie Barnes.

That is, unless your name is Kawhi Leonard or Kyle Lowry, who were also acquired via trade.

Although as the 2020s rolled around, the Toronto Raptors' pattern of draft picks has been sort of hit or miss. Of course, we're all aboard the Barnes, Dick, Mogbo, Shead, and Walter train, but then you have guys like Malachi Flynn, Dalano Banton, and Christian Koloko in between—even if the last two were fan favorites in their short stints with the Raptors.

You can't hit on 'em all, and this sentiment applies to many other NBA franchises as well. However, the Raptors have a great front office mind in Masai Ujiri, who is renowned for his ability to scout talent. Looking ahead, what draft picks do Ujiri and the Toronto Raptors hold as they seek the potential stars of tomorrow? Let's dive right in and explore them all.

In the chart above, you’ll notice two second-round picks that aren’t Toronto’s own. One is a 2025 second-round pick coming their way via Portland, part of the surprising deal to dump Jalen McDaniels' contract to Sacramento in the summer of 2024.

The other is a 2026 second-round pick via Los Angeles, which Blake Murphy of Sportsnet confirmed is the draft pick heading to the Six in the trade deadline deal this year that sent Davion Mitchell to the Miami Heat.

The Raptors do have a few additional picks in their draft asset arsenal; however, they won't have the opportunity to utilize these selections as they are owed to other teams due to prior transactions. On the positive side, the impact of losing these picks is minimal, and they are not expected to be significant losses. That said, teams have proven to be skilled at scouting talent through the draft picks they acquire from others.

Here they are in another chart below:

There you have it, folks—a comprehensive overview of every Raptors draft pick from this year’s star-studded draft all the way through 2031, which is as far ahead as we can see for now. Fortunately, Toronto isn’t one of those teams that easily parts with their draft picks, which is why they have so many of their own.

Raptors fans will need to wait patiently to see who the team selects in the coming years, while hoping the front office can continue to make deals that enhance their draft capital.
