Psycho T has been an unlikely hero recently, starting the last few games in lieu of the injured Amir Johnson. If Johnson continues to be sidelined, Hansbrough could log major minutes in the playoffs. Even if he plays a limited role off the bench, Casey now knows he can trust Hansbrough to step up.

Consider last night’s 16 point performance against the Orlando Magic. Hansbrough added seven rebounds in the victory, showing that he belongs in the starting lineup. During the playoffs, Hansbrough will be able to consistenly and confidently offer the same thing he always has: toughness and effort.

When he is on the court, no one works harder. Whether he is scrapping for rebounds, cutting to the hoop or attempting to disrupt shooters, Hansbrough goes hard. Sure, he will earn his fair share of fouls, but he will also give opposing teams one more thing to think about. He is a scrapper, who will do anything to help his team win.

If the Raptors’ interior defence is in a rut, Hansbrough will be the guy Casey will send onto the floor. Championships are won with defence, and Hansbrough is one of the team’s best stoppers.
