This is one of those selections that people are going to question.
However, the original Dream Team had Chris Mullin on it. This is our Chris Mullin.
There were plenty of more skilled players in the NBA at that time but Mullin was on the team to fulfil a specific role as a spot-up shooter.
If it’s late and the game and you’re down by a few points, having a guy like Curry on your team is essential.
The guy was just a flat out shooter. How the heck do you think Steph Curry learned to shoot the ball from half-court?
In his three seasons as a Raptor, Curry only averaged 6.7 points per game over 194 games in Toronto but that smooth stroke was still evident. Curry was always prepared to come off the bench late in the game and drain a big three.
