No. 1 Norman Powell Guard 6-foot-4 UCLA – Age: 24
The 24 year-old Powell is entering his third season in the NBA and has already turned his promise into production for the Toronto Raptors.
He went from playing in 49 games during his rookie season to 74 games last year while averaging 18 minutes and chipping in with 8.4 points per game.
Powell took advantage of some extra minutes when Kyle Lowry was out injured for a stretch late in the season and proved that he can be a legitimate NBA guard.
After playing all four years of college at UCLA, Powell is a bit of a rarity these days in that he was a little more polished than some of the younger more raw players who are coming into the NBA (see Anunoby).
Powell is fast becoming a fan favourite at the Air Canada Centre after emerging as a key figure off the bench during the 2016-17 season.
Look for Powell to increase production on all of his offensive totals during the 2017-18 season.
He should average in double figures in scoring and will continue to be a valuable asset for the Toronto Raptors organization.
