1. DeMar DeRozan

Did you think this was going to be anyone else? DeMar DeRozan is the Raptor’s best player, currently in the prime of his career, and under contract for at least two additional seasons.

Coming into the season DeRozan was already an all-star, averaging 27 points, five rebounds, and four assists. This season, DeRozan has taken his game to another level.

This season, DeRozan is scoring more efficiently, assisting on a higher-percentage of baskets, and has improved in nearly every defensive metric. If it were not for Victor Oladipo‘s insane season DeRozan would be a legitimate candidate for most improved.

Next: Players the Raptors should target this trade deadline

Barring something absolutely ludicrous and unforeseen, no one is going to pry DeRozan from the Raptors. Right now the Raptors focus is and should be, trying to surround DeRozan with the best pieces possible in order to make a finals run.
