When the Raptors traded Terrence Ross for Serge Ibaka, fans believed it was one of the biggest coups of the year. The team got a fringe-All-Star for an inconsistent bench player. But Ibaka hasn’t exactly lit the basketball world on fire.

Ibaka averaged 12.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in 27.5 minutes. He also hit 1.4 threes-a-game at a 36 per cent clip and only had 1.2 turnovers.

His stats won’t wow anyone. He can fill up a stat sheet and be a useful 3-and-D big while not hurting a team anywhere. That’s where most of his use comes from: he is incredibly efficient.

But his efficiency is also the result of his lack of volume. Ibaka rarely goes beyond his averages on a weekly basis. He won’t be dropping 20-and-10 games or recording six blocks or hitting four threes. He’s a steady eddy.

He is a better player in Roto or Points leagues, but not for Head-to-Head. While he seems overrated, his contribution in threes, blocks, and high shooting percentages make him a decent grab within the middle rounds.

Verdict: Just Right
