Kyle Lowry looks better than ever

Kyle Lowry is showing why he is an all-star caliber point guard. His shooting stroke looks as good as it has ever been, and his facilitating seems to be on a new level.

In 2017-18, Kyle Lowry had what many considered a down year. His shot attempts per game were his lowest since his initial season with the Toronto Raptors. His field goal percentages dipped across the board, and he made it to the free throw line far less than the two previous seasons with the Toronto Raptors.

Many started to write off Kyle Lowry and considered him to be an all-star caliber player no longer. So far this season, Lowry has proved the haters wrong.

Lowry is looking as confident as he ever has. He is shooting 60-percent from the field and 57.7-percent from deep. It’s a small sample size, and these numbers are likely to dip, but his confidence and stroke are back.

In the offensive system Nick Nurse implements, it is highly possible that Kyle Lowry will finish this season with a career-high in three-pointers attempted. Last season, Kyle Lowry finished third in the NBA with a total of 238 three-pointers made. If Lowry stays healthy, this total could easily be higher this season.

Kyle Lowry’s improved play goes beyond his confident looking stroke. His playmaking and facilitating is visibly improved. Currently, Lowry is averaging 10 assists per game, good enough for first in the NBA. This is pretty incredible considering he is playing alongside two new starters in Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green.

It is inevitable that team chemistry will continue to improve as the players learn each other’s tendencies, and spend more time on the court together.

If Kyle Lowry can continue this level of play, he will no doubt be an all-star once again.
