Vince Carter, Terrence Ross…who’s next?

As mentioned before, there probably won’t be any Raptor players who will get a considerable amount of attention as a dunker. However, If Norman Powell is able to get playing time and come back healthy, he could be an option for the dunk contest. His 40.5 vertical measured during the draft combine is visible from some of the plays that he has made. For example:

For the 3-point contest, Kyle Lowry, Danny Green, and Kawhi Leonard have all been considered great shooters in their careers. It would be difficult to count Lowry out of this since Lowry has been participating in this contest for the past 3 years in the contest. Danny Green has hit some big shots for Toronto and is currently one of the best corner shooters in the NBA making him a perfect fit for the contest. Kawhi would also provide star power to the competition. Any of the three would be a good choice.

The Skills challenge has made an interesting change to the format with guards competing against bigs in the obstacle course. Kyle Lowry leading the league in assists would help him get an invite, but a case can also be made for Pascal Siakam. Siakam would have some competition if players like Jokic or Anthony Davis decided to join, but his speed could give him the edge over most of his competition including guards. It would come down to him making the last three-point shot.
