Get better Kevin Durant

As soon as it happened you knew it was trouble. Kevin Durant attempted to make a move on the perimeter and immediately fell to the floor. He grabbed the lower half of his right leg, and it looked like trouble.

It turned out to be worse than originally expected. Shams Charania initially reported that it was an Achilles injury. Now, it’s been reported to likely be an Achilles tear. There’s almost no worse injury in sports. Doctors have managed to make major strides in ACLs, compound fractures, and almost every other injury. However, the Achilles remains an explosive athlete’s worst curse.

The reaction from the Raptors fanbase was classless and disgusting. No, a select group of individuals does not represent the entire fanbase, but the group cheering does give a black eye to the fanbase for some time.

After the injury, it’s easy to question the organization for pressuring Durant into playing. However, that’s a pretty wild assumption to make without any inside information.

We don’t know if the organization pushed him back or Durant pushed himself. KD is also a grown adult, capable of making his own decisions. To act as if the decision was anyone but Durant’s is wildly reckless.

Maybe he was pressured. It’s not impossible. But to make a claim from miles away without any real knowledge of the situation is harmful to the Warriors organization, a medical staff who has worked tremendously hard to get where they are, and Durant himself.

It’s horrible news for Durant and we wish him the best moving forward. Injuries suck.

And still, there’s a series to be played. Where do we go from here?
