Terance Mann

Terance Mann is a senior out of Florida State. He is among the oldest of this year’s prospects. Mann will turn 23 in October. Mann started 101 of a possible 140 games during his college career. Last season, Mann averaged 11.4 points and 6.5 rebounds. His numbers don’t jump out at you, but he has shown growth in a number of areas since his freshman season.

Shooting has always been the biggest question mark with respect to Mann’s game. This past season Mann improved significantly, both from long distance (39 percent) and the free throw line (79 percent). He is a strong defender and unselfish player. Mann doesn’t project to have the highest upside, but he can develop into a solid role player off the bench.

Mann has good size for a wing play. He measured 6-foot-6.5 (in shoes) with a 6-foot-7.75 wingspan. Mann was another player that benefitted from a strong showing at the G League Elite Camp and received an invite to the NBA Combine. During the strength & agility testing, Mann showed off his athleticism recording a 38.5-inch max vertical leap.

NBA teams are desperate for size and shooting on the perimeter. Mann won’t blow anybody away in any one particular area, but he provides versatility. At Portsmouth, Mann was focused on delivering the ball and making his teammates better. If he can develop a consistent three-point shot (32.7 percent for his career) then he has a chance to carve out a role at the next level.

ESPN ranks Mann at the 68th overall prospect in this year’s draft which would have him going undrafted (SI – 58; CBS – 53).  Even if Mann doesn’t hear his named called, he will be one of the first to receive an invite to summer league or a two-way contract.
